You may have noticed that I don't have the best camera in the world. I'll have to start using my husband's when he doesn't have it at work with him. Anywho, Cupcake stamp: Amy Smyth Made It. Sentiment: Amuse.

Ok, so I'm a cheater...
I was "tagged" by Michelle, my new blogger friend. You can see the official rules (some of which I am neglecting) on her fun site. I just feel like too much of an amature in this card-making blogging world, that I am sticking to Rule #1 and #2. So here are my 7 random facts....and thanks Michelle! I'm flattered.
1. I am working on my Gifted Education Endorsement to add to my Elementary Teaching degree. (Boring! I'll do better!!)
2. I have eaten meals (yes, more than once) of snapping turtle, and it's tasty!
3. I cannot go to bed/get ready for bed unless the bed is MADE!
4. I bartended for a summer during college and would never do it again. Ever.
5. I drive a cyber-green Volkswagen Beetle that was my dream car in college. Now I am coveting a bright blue Mini Cooper.
6. My mom passed away from breast cancer when I was 1 year and 2 months old. She chose to have me instead of taking chemo to fight it. Which leads me to my last fact....
7. I have yearly mamograms (I started when I was 25) , and if you have a family history or are 40 years old, YOU SHOULD TOO! It could save your life.

Simple & Sweet
I just love how this card turned out. When I started, I had no particular idea in mind--I just loved that green and white polka-dot paper on the craft cardstock. I didn't used any stamps or sentiment, but think that it sort of looks like a "Glad you're expecting" card. In the last week, we have found out that three people we know are expecting. Sheesh!

Call Me
Funny, this is exactly how I am feeling right now...wishing my husband would "CALL ME." He landed in Anchorage, Alaska today, and I'm missing him. You may have read about the reason why he's in Alaska on the front page of today's Argus Leader.
Stamps: first ever stamp set from Amy Smyth Made It called "Stamp it, Girlfriend."

Think Pink!
One of the guys that I graduated with from high school married a lovely young woman who had to battle breast cancer at a very young age. She also had multiple family members who had been stricken with breast cancer. She fought it and won, and then decided to start a non-profit foundation with one of her nurses to help patients and families who live in her county who are battling breast cancer. She told me that many times, the money raised in events for breast cancer does not go directly to the patients or families in need. With her organization, she has already helped over 20 families who live in her county. I just found out this wonderful news after running into her and her husband at a 4th of July parade.
Because I lost my own mother to breast cancer, and because I once lived in the community she is trying to help, she will be receiving this card along with a donation from my husband and I. Way to go Tori! We're so proud of you!!

"Cutie Patootie"
I can't take credit for the layout of this card--I cased it from a card that Val at the Stamp Garden sent me. Her's had alot more details and used more stamped images. I mostly used designer paper and a punch. I love these pink, yellow, and green papers (from Michael's, 6x6) and will be making a little project for my neice, Ayden, with them. There will be butterflies, ribbon, and a canvas.....Hopefully I can successfully complete it!

Bikini Card
My friend Emily and I went to a class at the Stamp Garden tonight and made three fun cards. This card was super easy, but of course not our idea. Thank Val for that. Who'd of thunk? BTW, the sentiment on the inside says {You're one of a kind}. Oh, and that butterfly--supposed to be a tatoo.

"I'll love you fur-ever"
Can you tell I have a new favorite layout? Just wanted so show off some more Amuse stamps. Everything (but the sun/scallop) is Amuse.
A side note on the Raccoon: Growing up, my Dad always had coon hounds for pets--Some even before I was born. Another was our childhood pet. They were some of Dad's favorite dogs, and I still remember on warm, still summer nights, going out well after dark with Dad and my brother in the 1980 International Scout (Dad's was red with a white top) to hunt for raccoons. I can still hear the bellow our dog, Bones, made when he treed a coon. So when I saw the stamp, I knew I had to have it so I could make a card for my Dad. (Ps-my apologies, animal lovers. When you live in the Midwest, hunting most everything is a way of life. Dad never did it for sport only--he sold the furs in the Canadian fur trade.) TMI?

Have a Scent-sational Day!
I'm a huge fan of Amuse stamps. They were actually some of the first stamps I ever purchased. I love the whimsy of them, and the punny sentiments. I made a couple different versions of this card by changing the 'sun' but this was the only one left that I didn't send out in the mail. The colors are hard to see, but the pale lime green and orange actually look good together.

Baby Cards & Blog Candy
I don't even know of anyone to give these cards to {yet} but I'm lovin' my stamp set from CHF's Rummage Bin called "The Shoe Boutique."
What better to go with Baby Cards than some blog candy? Another fellow South Dakota blogger and Stampin' Up Demonstrator is giving away some blog candy on her blog. Check out 2{stamp}is2b and let her know how much you love her cards! She would like for you to link a post from YOUR blog to hers, so that your readers are directed to her lovely blog. Are ya with me?
